Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), exit the station and head towards the main street, Jernbanetorget. Look for the tram stop for tram line 12 or 13. Board the tram heading towards 'Majorstuen' (line 12) or 'Bjerke' (line 13). After approximately 5 stops, get off at 'Aker Brygge' stop. From there, walk towards the waterfront, and follow the signs along the promenade to Akershus Fortress. The fortress is located on the right side as you approach the water.

    If you are staying in the city center, you can easily walk to Akershus Fortress. Start at the Oslo Opera House, located by the waterfront. Head west along the water, following the path towards Aker Brygge. Continue walking past the restaurants and shops until you reach the entrance to Akershus Fortress. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes.

    From the Oslo Central Station, exit and find the bus terminals located just outside the station. Look for bus number 54, which heads towards 'Aker Brygge'. Board the bus and get off at the 'Aker Brygge' stop. Once you have exited the bus, walk towards the waterfront and follow the path leading to Akershus Fortress, which will be on your right.
