Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), exit the station and head towards the main street, Karl Johans gate. Turn left onto Karl Johans gate and walk straight for about 15 minutes. You will pass by landmarks such as the National Theatre and Stortinget (the Parliament). Continue walking until you reach the end of the street where you will see Slottsplassen (the Palace Square) directly in front of you, with the Royal Palace situated at the top of the hill.

From Oslo Central Station, take tram number 12, 13, or 19 from the nearby tram stop called Jernbanetorget. Board the tram heading towards Majorstuen. After about 5 minutes, get off at the stop called 'Nationaltheatret'. Once you exit the tram, walk towards Karl Johans gate and turn left. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Slottsplassen, where the Royal Palace is located.
