Walking
If you are starting from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), exit the station and head towards the main street, Jernbanetorget. Walk straight along Karl Johans gate, which is the main pedestrian thoroughfare. You will pass by the National Theatre and the Parliament building on your right. Continue walking until you reach Slottsplassen, which is located just in front of the Royal Palace at the end of Karl Johans gate. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.
Public Transport (Tram)
From Oslo Central Station, you can catch tram line 12 or 13 from the tram stop located just outside the station. Board the tram and ride until you reach the 'Slottsparken' stop. After getting off, walk towards the Royal Palace, and you will see Slottsplassen directly in front of you. This journey will take about 10 minutes.
Public Transport (Bus)
From Oslo Central Station, walk to the nearby bus stop, 'Oslo S.' Take bus number 30 (to 'Nydalen') or bus number 31 (to 'Majorstuen'). Get off at the 'Nationaltheatret' stop, which is the closest stop to Slottsplassen. From there, it is a short walk heading up Karl Johans gate towards the Royal Palace. This option should take around 15 minutes in total.
