If you're traveling by car, start from the city center of Østfold. Take the E6 highway towards Horten. After approximately 30 kilometers, follow the signs for Horten and merge onto the E18 highway. Continue on E18 for about 10 kilometers. Take the exit towards Horten, and follow the signs leading to Bastøy. You will need to park at Bastøy Prison, which is located at 3183 Horten. From the prison, you can access the ferry terminal.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from Østfold to Horten Station. Trains run regularly, but it's a good idea to check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive at Horten Station, you can catch a local bus (bus number 02) towards Bastøy Prison. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. After reaching Bastøy Prison, follow the signs to the ferry terminal, where you can board a ferry to Bastøy Island. Please check the ferry schedule ahead of time as it may vary.
