If you are traveling by car, begin your journey on the E6 highway. From the E6, take the exit towards Gamle Fredrikstad (Exit 105). Continue on E18 towards Fredrikstad and follow the signs for Gamle Fredrikstad. Once in Gamle Fredrikstad, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Gullskår Rock Carving Field, located at 1639 Gamle Fredrikstad. There is free parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a train from Oslo to Fredrikstad. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Fredrikstad station, transfer to bus number 12 towards Gamle Fredrikstad. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes, and disembark at the stop closest to Gullskår Rock Carving Field. You may need to walk a short distance (approximately 1 km) to reach the site. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as it may vary on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in Gamle Fredrikstad, you can walk to the Gullskår Rock Carving Field. From the city center, head southwest towards the river and follow the scenic pathway along the waterfront.
