Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head to Fredrikstad in Østfold. From the center of Fredrikstad, take the E6 highway northbound. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach the exit for Rv. 118 towards 'Gressvik'. Take this exit and follow Rv. 118. After approximately 5 kilometers, turn left onto 'Kjellandsveien'. Follow this road until you reach the parking area for Katrineborg viewpoint. There should be signs indicating the viewpoint as you approach.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Katrineborg viewpoint via public transportation, take a bus from Fredrikstad's main bus station. Look for bus routes heading towards Gressvik. You can take bus number 101 or 102, which typically run every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Get off at the 'Gressvik' stop. From there, it's a 15-minute walk to the viewpoint. Head south on 'Kjellandsveien' and follow the signs to Katrineborg viewpoint. Be aware that you may need to check the bus schedule for specific times and ticket prices, which usually range from 30-50 NOK.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity and prefer walking, you can start from central Fredrikstad. The walk to Katrineborg viewpoint is approximately 6 kilometers and would take around 1.5-2 hours. Head east on 'Storgata' towards the waterfront, then follow the signs towards Gressvik. Once you reach Rv. 118, follow it north for a short distance until you reach 'Kjellandsveien'. Turn left onto 'Kjellandsveien' and continue until you reach the viewpoint. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the route includes some uneven terrain.
