Exploring the Heart of Stavanger: The City Center Square

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Stavanger Cathedral (Stavanger Domkirke), exit the cathedral and head south on Domkirkeplassen towards Øvre Holmegate. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Kirkegata. Turn right onto Kirkegata and walk until you see the square on your left, which will be just a short walk away.

• Walking

  From the Stavanger Train Station, exit the station and head towards the main street, Jernbanegata. Walk straight along Jernbanegata until you reach the intersection with Vågen. Turn left onto Vågen and continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the city center square, which will be on your right.

• Walking

  If you are at the Stavanger Maritime Museum, exit the museum and head towards the waterfront. Walk along the harbor area, heading towards the city center. As you walk, follow the waterfront path until you reach the square, which will be ahead of you.

• Walking

  Starting from the Stavanger Art Museum, exit the museum and head towards Sørmarka. Walk along the path through the park until you reach the main road, then turn left onto the road and proceed until you reach the city center square.

• Bus

  If you are near the Stavanger Forum, take bus number 1 or 3 from the nearest bus stop towards the city center. The ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Disembark at the 'Stavanger sentrum' stop, and from there, it's a 5-minute walk to the city center square.
