Start at the Stavanger Tourist Information Center located at Strandkaien 40, 4005 Stavanger. From the center, head south along the waterfront promenade towards the Stavanger Cathedral. Once you reach the cathedral, continue walking east on Øvre Holmegate until you reach the intersection with Vågsgata. Turn left onto Vågsgata and walk until you reach the roundabout at Bybrua. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Ruten. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach Vålandshaugen.
