Car
If you are driving in Svalbard, start your journey from Longyearbyen, the main settlement. Head south on the E10 road, which will take you towards the airport. Continue on this road for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Svalbard Church. From there, take the right fork onto FV200. Follow FV200 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for the Longyearbyen-Mine 7 road. This scenic route will offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After about 15 kilometers, you will arrive at the entrance to the Slogen hiking trail, where you can park your car.
Public Transportation
To reach Slogen using public transportation, you will first need to get to Longyearbyen's bus terminal. Take a local bus from your accommodation in Longyearbyen to the terminal. From there, board the bus heading to Mine 7, which operates several times a day. The fare is approximately 100 NOK (Norwegian Krone). The bus ride is about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Mine 7, follow the marked hiking trail for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the base of Slogen. Please ensure to check the local bus schedule in advance, as services may vary depending on the season.
