Start at the main square in Tromsø, known as Stortorget. From Stortorget, head southeast towards the harbor. You will walk along the waterfront on Storgata street. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Søndre Tollbodgate. Turn left onto Søndre Tollbodgate. The Alter Telegraphenmast will be located on the left side of the street at number 9008, just a short walk from the harbor area.
