Walking
If you're starting from the Trondheim Central Station (Trondheim Sentralstasjon), exit the station and head west on Brattøra towards Rådhusgata. Continue walking along Rådhusgata until you reach the intersection with Prinsens Gate. Turn left on Prinsens Gate and walk until you reach Bakklandet. Cross the river using the Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro). After crossing, follow the path straight ahead onto Kongens Gate. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road, then take a right onto Kristianstensbakken. Walk up the hill; Kristiansten Fortress will be on your left at Kristianstensbakken 60.
Public Transport - Bus
From the Trondheim Central Station, walk to the bus stop located just outside the station. Take bus number 5 towards 'Lade' and get off at 'Kristiansten'. After getting off, walk back a few meters and take the path leading up the hill towards Kristiansten Fortress. The fortress will be located at Kristianstensbakken 60, a short walk from the bus stop.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental stations around Trondheim. Start at the bike rental station close to the Trondheim Central Station. Head towards the river and follow the bike path along the Nidelva River. When you reach the Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro), cross the bridge and turn left onto Bakklandet. Continue along the riverside path until you reach the road leading up to Kristiansten Fortress. Follow the signs to Kristianstensbakken 60, which is located at the top of the hill.
