Getting There

Walking
If you are in the city center of Trondheim, start at the main square, Torvet. From there, head east along Nordre gate, which will turn into Olav Tryggvasons gate. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Kjøpmannsgata. Turn left onto Kjøpmannsgata and follow it until you reach the bridge over the river Nidelva. Cross the bridge and then turn right onto Bakkegata. Follow Bakkegata uphill until you reach the intersection with Kristianstensbakken. Turn left onto Kristianstensbakken and continue walking until you see the fortress entrance.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the main bus terminal in Trondheim, take bus line 1 or 2 towards Lade. You should disembark at the 'Kristiansten' stop. After getting off the bus, walk uphill on Kristianstensbakken for about 10 minutes. The fortress will be on your left as you approach the top of the hill.
