Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey in the nearest major town, Sandefjord. Head northeast on E18 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit toward Tønsberg and continue on Route 319 until you reach the town of Tofte. From Tofte, follow local signs towards the Ostnestangen Lighthouse, which is located at 3482 Tofte. Make sure to park in designated areas nearby, as the lighthouse itself may not have dedicated parking.

• Public Transportation

  Begin your journey by taking a bus from Sandefjord to Tønsberg. You can catch the bus at Sandefjord Bus Station. The bus service frequently runs and will take you to Tønsberg in about 30 minutes. From Tønsberg, transfer to a local bus that heads toward Tofte. Once you arrive in Tofte, you can either walk to Ostnestangen Lighthouse, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the bus stop, or check for any local taxi services that can take you directly to the lighthouse.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Sandefjord or Tønsberg. Follow the cycle paths leading towards Tofte. The distance is around 20 kilometers and will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Upon reaching Tofte, follow the signs to Ostnestangen Lighthouse. Be aware that some paths may be unpaved, so ensure you have a suitable bike.
