Getting There

  • Car

    From Oslo, take the E18 highway towards Sandefjord. Continue on the E18 for approximately 110 kilometers until you reach exit 48 towards Sandefjord. Follow the signs for Sandefjord and merge onto the RV 305. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto Helgerødveien. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, and you will find The Gokstad Mound on your right. Parking is available nearby, and there are no additional costs for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    From Oslo Central Station, take a train to Sandefjord. The journey takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes with regular services. Once you arrive at Sandefjord Station, exit the station and look for bus line 6, which will take you towards Helgerødveien. Get off at the Helgerødveien stop, which is approximately a 10-minute ride. From there, walk about 1 kilometer down Helgerødveien to The Gokstad Mound. The bus fare is approximately 40 NOK, and the train fare from Oslo to Sandefjord is around 200 NOK one way.
