Nedre Foss: A Serene Escape in the Heart of Oslo

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Oslo city center. From the E18 highway, take the exit towards 'Oslo sentrum'. Follow signs for 'Grünerløkka', which is located northeast of the city center. Once in Grünerløkka, look for parking options nearby; street parking may be available, but be aware of local parking regulations. The nearest parking facilities are at 'Bislett' or 'Sagene', both of which are within walking distance to Nedre foss.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach Nedre foss using public transportation, take a bus from various locations in Viken to Oslo. Look for bus routes that go to 'Grünerløkka'. Once in Grünerløkka, disembark at the stop 'Schweigaards gate'. From there, Nedre foss is a short 10-minute walk. Head east on Schweigaards gate, then turn right onto Thorvald Meyers gate, and continue straight until you reach the park area where Nedre foss is located.

• Public Transportation - Tram

  You can also take the tram to get to Nedre foss. Board any tram line that heads towards 'Grünerløkka'. The closest tram stop is 'Birkelunden'. Once you get off, it's just a 5-minute walk to Nedre foss. Walk down to the park area, and you will find Nedre foss near the water.

• Public Transportation - Metro

  If you prefer the metro, take Line 1 (Frognerseteren) or Line 2 (Sognsvann) and get off at the 'Grünerløkka' station. From there, it's a 15-minute walk to Nedre foss. Exit the station and head towards Thorvald Meyers gate, follow the road to reach the park area housing Nedre foss.
