Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Oslo, take the E18 highway towards Drammen. After about 40 km, merge onto the E134 towards Kongsberg. Continue on E134 for approximately 110 km until you reach the town of Eidfjord. From Eidfjord, follow the signs for Vøringfossen, which is about 15 km away. The waterfall is located at 5785 Vøringsfoss. Parking is available near the viewing platforms, and there may be a small fee for parking.

• Public Transportation (Train and Bus)

  Start by taking a train from Oslo Central Station to Geilo. The train ride takes around 3 hours. From Geilo, take bus number 100 towards Eidfjord. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Eidfjord, you will need to transfer to a local bus (check the schedules in advance) that goes to Vøringfossen, which is about 15 km away. Be sure to check the bus times ahead of your trip as they may vary.

  If you have access to a car, consider driving to Eidfjord and then hiking to Vøringfossen. From Eidfjord, there are marked hiking trails leading to the waterfall, which offer stunning views along the way. Remember to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water. The trails can take 1-3 hours depending on your pace. Parking is available in Eidfjord, and there may be a fee associated with it.
