Getting There

• Car

  From any location within Maumee Bay State Park, exit the park and turn onto Ohio Route 2 heading north. Continue on Route 2, then take the exit for Ohio Route 64 North. Follow Route 64 for approximately 10 miles. Maumee State Forest will be located on your right at 12431-12693 Ohio 64. Look for the entrance sign to ensure you are at the right location.

• Public Transportation

  If you are utilizing public transportation, you will first need to reach a bus stop that services the area. The nearest major public transit option is via Greyhound or local bus services that operate from Toledo. Take a bus to the Toledo transit center, and from there, transfer to a local bus that heads towards Swanton, Ohio. After disembarking at the Swanton stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile south on Ohio Route 64 to reach the entrance of Maumee State Forest. Be sure to check the local transit schedules for the most updated times and possible costs.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, departing from Maumee Bay State Park, you can ride north on the bike paths connecting to Ohio Route 2, making your way towards Route 64. It is approximately a 10-mile ride with dedicated bike lanes available on some stretches. Ensure that you wear a helmet and follow traffic rules as you cycle. Keep in mind that biking on highways can be challenging due to traffic, so plan accordingly.
