Exploring the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Use your GPS and enter the address: 2380 Memorial Rd, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433. From downtown Dayton, take I-75 S to exit 51 for I-70 E. Merge onto I-675 N and take the exit for Wright-Patterson AFB. Follow the signs to Memorial Rd. The Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center will be on your right.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, first take a bus to the closest major transit hub in Dayton. From there, you can catch a bus service that goes towards Wright-Patterson AFB. Check the Greater Dayton RTA website for the most current routes and schedules. Once you arrive at Wright-Patterson AFB, you might need to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the Interpretive Center as it is located within the base and may not be directly accessible by public transit.

• Walking

  If you are already near the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base area, you can walk to the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center. From the nearest bus stop, head towards Memorial Rd, and follow it until you reach the center, which will be on your left as you approach the main entrance.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer biking, ensure you have a bike-friendly route mapped out to Wright-Patterson AFB. You can bike on local roads leading to the base. Once you arrive at the base entrance, continue to follow the bike paths or designated lanes towards the Interpretive Center, located at 2380 Memorial Rd.
