If you are traveling by car from the center of Panhandle, head east on US-60 towards the town of Beaver. Continue on US-60 for approximately 43 miles until you reach the intersection with US-283. Turn south onto US-283 and drive for about 17 miles until you reach the junction with US-412. Turn east onto US-412 and continue for about 10 miles. Gloss Mountain State Park will be on your right. Look for the signs indicating the park entrance.
Public Transportation
Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Gloss Mountain State Park. However, travelers can take a Greyhound or another regional bus service from Panhandle to the nearest city with more transit options, which is Fairview, OK. Once in Fairview, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining distance (approximately 10 miles) to Gloss Mountain State Park. Please check local service availability and fares in advance.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking can be an option if you're in good physical condition. From Panhandle, take US-60 east for approximately 43 miles to US-283. Turn south onto US-283 and then turn east onto US-412. The total distance is around 70 miles one way, so it’s recommended to plan for a full day of cycling, ensuring you have plenty of water and snacks. Always wear a helmet and follow safety rules while biking on highways.
