After approximately 30 miles, you will reach the town of Hugo. Continue on US-70 E for another 10 miles until you see signs for the Kiamichi River area. Turn left onto Kiamichi River Road and follow it for about 5 miles, where you will find access points to the river. Be sure to have a map or GPS device, as some sections may not be well marked.
Public Transportation and Walking
For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from the nearest station in Red River Valley to Hugo. Once you arrive in Hugo, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service to the Kiamichi River area. The taxi ride will cost approximately $20 and will take about 15-20 minutes. If you prefer to walk, you can walk from the bus station to the river, which is around 2 miles away, but be prepared for a longer journey.
Bicycle

There are bike lanes available, and the ride to the Kiamichi River will take approximately 2 hours, covering around 30 miles.
