Car
If you're driving from Muscat city center, head south on Sultan Qaboos Street (Route 1). Continue for approximately 15 km until you reach the Al Amarat area. Take the exit for Al Amarat and follow the signs toward Amerat Dam. The dam is located on an unnamed road, approximately 5 km into the Al Amarat area. Look for the coordinates GFHM+HP6 to reach the exact location.
Taxi
For those who prefer not to drive, you can easily hire a taxi from anywhere in Muscat Governorate. Request the driver to take you to Amerat Dam, providing them with the coordinates GFHM+HP6 or simply ask for 'Al Amarat Dam'. The cost of a taxi ride will vary based on your starting location but expect to pay between 8-15 OMR for a one-way trip.
Public Bus
Take the public bus from the Muscat bus station. Board a bus heading to Al Amarat. The fare is typically around 0.5 OMR. Once you arrive in Al Amarat, you will need to take a taxi for the remaining distance to Amerat Dam, which will cost approximately 2-3 OMR. Ensure to check the bus schedules as they may vary, especially on weekends.
