Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Muscat. Head northwest on Sultan Qaboos Street (Route 1) towards the Al Khuwair area. After approximately 10 kilometers, take the exit toward Hayy As Saruj. Continue straight until you reach the coastal road. Turn left onto the coastal road towards Shati. Follow the road for about 3 kilometers until you see the signs for Shati. Parking is available along the beach area, but be aware of any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Shati using public transportation, locate a bus stop in Muscat that services the routes to Hayy As Saruj. Buses such as the 1, 4, or 32 frequently pass through this area. Purchase a ticket onboard, which typically costs around 0.5 OMR. Ride the bus until you reach the stop nearest to Shati. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the beach. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more comfortable and direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-hailing app like Careem or Uber. Simply input 'Shati' as your destination. The fare from central Muscat to Shati should be around 3 to 5 OMR depending on traffic and the exact pickup location. This method is ideal for those traveling with family or carrying beach equipment.
