Walking
If you're starting from the Mutrah Corniche, head east along the waterfront promenade. As you walk, you'll enjoy stunning views of the sea and the mountains. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade, and then turn left onto Al-Mina Street (also called Al Bahri Road). Follow Al-Mina Street for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by the Oman Maritime Museum on your right. Keep walking straight until you come to the intersection with Sultan Qaboos Street.
Walking
At the intersection with Sultan Qaboos Street, turn right and walk along this main road. You will see the iconic Al Alam Palace in the distance as you approach. The palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is located at the end of the street. Once you get closer, you can take pictures from the front gates. The entrance is not open to the public, but you can enjoy the stunning architecture from the outside.
Public Bus
From Mutrah Souq, take Bus 1 (the blue bus) towards Ruwi. Inform the driver that you want to go to Al Alam Palace. The bus will take you directly to the vicinity of the palace. Once you get off, walk towards the palace, which will be visible from the bus stop. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure you check the bus schedule, as it may vary on weekends.
Taxi
If you prefer a faster route, you can take a taxi. Just find a taxi stand or flag down a taxi on the street. Tell the driver you want to go to Al Alam Palace. The fare should be reasonable, and the ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes from central locations like Mutrah or Ruwi, depending on traffic.
