Almenyal Beach Park: A Coastal Oasis in Sohar

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Sohar, start by heading towards the Al Bahjah Mall, which is a well-known landmark. From Al Bahjah Mall, proceed north on Al Nakheel Street (also known as 23rd July Street). Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Al Wadi Street. Turn right onto Al Wadi Street and walk for another 500 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Al Matar Street (also called Sohar Airport Road). Keep walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers, and you will see signs directing you towards Almenyal Beach Park. The park is located on the right side of the road at the coordinates 24.2633° N, 56.8215° E.

• Bicycle

  For those cycling, start from the Sohar Corniche, a popular area. Head towards Al Bahjah Mall and follow the same route as the walking directions. Riding along Al Nakheel Street, you can enjoy the scenery while pedaling your way north. At the intersection with Al Wadi Street, make a right turn and continue cycling until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Al Matar Street. Keep cycling straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers, keeping an eye out for the signs to Almenyal Beach Park, which will be on your right. Ensure your bike is in good condition as the roads can be busy.

• Public Transport

  If you prefer using public transport, you can catch a local bus from Sohar Central Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Al Matar or Sohar Airport. Once you board, inform the driver that you wish to get off at the stop for Almenyal Beach Park. The bus ride should take approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic. After disembarking, walk towards the main road and follow the signs leading to the park, which will be a short distance away.
