Getting there

Car

From Wahiba Sands, head south on Route 23 towards Sur. Continue for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach the junction for Wadi Shab, signposted off Route 23. Take the exit and follow the road signs towards Wadi Shab. The last stretch will lead you into the village of Tiwi. Look for the parking area near the entrance of the Wadi Shab trail. Make sure to arrive early to secure a parking spot, as it can get busy.

Public Transportation

If you are traveling by public transport, take a bus from your location in Wahiba Sands to Sur. Once in Sur, you will need to hire a taxi to take you to Wadi Shab. The taxi ride from Sur to the entrance of Wadi Shab will cost approximately 10-15 Omani Rials. Make sure to agree on the price before starting your journey. Once you reach the entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee to access the wadi, which is typically around 1 Omani Rial.

Boat

After arriving at the Wadi Shab entrance, you will need to cross a small river to reach the hiking trail leading to Wadi Shab Cave. This is done via a local boat, which costs around 1 Omani Rial per person. The boat ride is short, taking only a few minutes, and will take you directly to the starting point of the hike.
