Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by getting on I-84 E from your current location. Follow I-84 E for approximately 30 miles. Take exit 31 for Bridal Veil/Mulnomah Falls. After exiting, turn left onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Continue on this road for about 5 miles, and you'll arrive at Multnomah Falls, located at 50000 Historic Columbia River Hwy, Bridal Veil, OR 97010. Parking is available, and there may be a small fee depending on the season.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take the MAX Blue Line light rail from Portland to the Gateway Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Columbia Gorge Express bus service. The bus runs seasonally and takes you directly to Multnomah Falls. Be sure to check the schedule and buy your ticket in advance, as services can fill up quickly during peak tourist seasons. The drop-off point is right at the falls, so you won't need to walk far.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and wish to bike, you can take the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, which is a scenic route that leads to Multnomah Falls. Start from the western end of the trail near Troutdale, following the bike path along the Columbia River. The trail is approximately 15 miles long and offers stunning views of the river and surrounding mountains. Remember to wear a helmet and check the trail conditions before you go.

• Walking/Hiking

  If you're already in the vicinity and enjoy hiking, you can take the Wahkeena Falls Loop Trail, which connects to the Multnomah Falls area. Starting from the Wahkeena Falls trailhead, follow the loop trail for a beautiful hike that includes views of both Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls. This trail is approximately 2.5 miles round trip and is moderately challenging, so wear appropriate footwear and carry water with you.
