If you are driving, start from Portland, OR. Take I-84 E towards The Dalles. Continue on I-84 E for about 40 miles until you reach exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Once you exit, turn left onto Cascade Locks Highway (also known as Historic Columbia River Highway). Follow this road for about 2 miles, and you will see signs for Ainsworth State Park on your left. The entrance to the park is well marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Ainsworth State Park using public transportation, take the Columbia Gorge Express bus from Portland. The bus departs from Pioneer Square and travels along the scenic Columbia River Highway. Get off at the Cascade Locks stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Ainsworth State Park. Head east on Cascade Locks Highway, and you will see the park entrance on your right.
Car
For those coming from Hood River, OR, take OR-35 S towards Mt. Hood. Merge onto I-84 W and then take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Turn right onto Cascade Locks Highway and follow it for about 2 miles until you reach Ainsworth State Park on your left.

If you are near Multnomah Falls, drive west on the Historic Columbia River Highway (OR-30) for about 15 minutes. Follow the signs for I-84 E and merge onto I-84 E. Take exit 44 for Cascade Locks, then turn left onto Cascade Locks Highway. The park entrance will be on your left after about 2 miles.
