Car
If you are driving, head towards Stevenson, WA. From Interstate 84, take exit 44 for WA-14 W towards Washougal. Continue on WA-14 W for approximately 18 miles. Once you reach Stevenson, turn left onto Rock Creek Rd. Continue for about 2 miles, and then turn left onto Hamilton Mountain Trail. The trailhead will be on your right after about half a mile. Parking is available at the trailhead, but be aware that there may be a parking fee, so bring cash or check.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a TriMet bus (Line 44) from Portland to the Washougal area. Once you arrive at Washougal, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Hamilton Mountain Trailhead, as public transit does not extend directly to the trailhead. Expect taxi fares to vary, typically around $20-$30 depending on the distance.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can ride from Stevenson, WA to the trailhead. Start at the center of Stevenson and head towards Rock Creek Rd. This route is approximately 2 miles and mostly uphill, so be prepared for a workout. Make sure your bike is in good condition, and wear a helmet for safety. The trailhead parking area can accommodate bicycles.
