From Bend, Oregon, head east on NE Highway 20 for approximately 3 miles. The entrance to Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint will be on your right at 1310 NE Hwy 20. There is a parking lot available at the viewpoint, and parking is free.

If you are using public transportation, take the Cascade East Transit bus towards Downtown Bend. Get off at the nearest stop to the intersection of NE Highway 20 and NE 15th Street. From there, it is approximately a 15-minute walk (0.75 miles) east along NE Highway 20 to reach the entrance of Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint at 1310 NE Hwy 20.
Walking
If you are already in Bend and prefer walking, start from downtown Bend and walk east along NE Franklin Avenue until you reach NE 15th Street. Turn left and continue north until you reach NE Highway 20. Turn right, and the entrance to Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint will be on your right at 1310 NE Hwy 20. This walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take about 30 minutes.
Biking
For those who have access to a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Bend to Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint. Follow NE Franklin Avenue east, then take NE 15th Street north to NE Highway 20. Turn right on NE Highway 20, and the entrance will be on your right at 1310 NE Hwy 20. The biking distance is about 1.5 miles, and the ride should take around 10-15 minutes.
