Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto I-205 N from your location in Clackamas County. Follow I-205 N for approximately 12 miles. Take exit 22B to merge onto I-84 E toward The Dalles. Continue on I-84 E for about 20 miles, then take exit 44 toward Cascade Locks. Once you exit, follow the signs to Cascade Locks. As you enter Cascade Locks, turn left onto E 1st St, then right onto Cascade Ave. Continue on Cascade Ave, and follow the signs to the parking area for Sherrard Point, which is located at the end of the road. The journey should take around 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, you can take the TriMet MAX Light Rail to the Gateway Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Columbia Gorge Express bus, which operates seasonally. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time. The bus will take you to Cascade Locks. Once you arrive in Cascade Locks, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Sherrard Point parking area, as public transportation does not go directly to the point. Be prepared for a taxi fare of approximately $15-20 for this short ride.
