Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Coos Bay, start by taking US-101 N. Continue on US-101 N for approximately 40 miles until you reach the junction with OR-38 E. Take the exit for OR-38 E and follow it for about 25 miles. When you reach the town of Drain, take a left turn onto OR-99 N. Continue on OR-99 N for about 13 miles until you reach the junction with OR-126 E. Turn right onto OR-126 E and drive for about 37 miles until you reach Blue River. Once in Blue River, look for signs directing you to Bigelow Hot Springs. The hot springs are located along the McKenzie River, just off the main road.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Bigelow Hot Springs via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Coos Bay to Eugene. The bus services available include Greyhound or local transit options. Once you arrive in Eugene, you will need to transfer to a local bus that heads towards the McKenzie Bridge area. From McKenzie Bridge, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Bigelow Hot Springs, as public transit may not directly service the hot springs. Keep in mind that scheduling and availability of public transport can vary, so check schedules in advance.

• Biking

  For the adventurous, biking to Bigelow Hot Springs is an option for those who are physically fit. Start your journey in Coos Bay and take US-101 N towards Florence. After reaching Florence, switch to OR-126 E. The total distance is roughly 70 miles, so plan for an all-day trip or consider breaking it up. The route is scenic, but be prepared for some challenging terrain and make sure to carry enough water and snacks.

• Walking/Hiking

  Walking or hiking to Bigelow Hot Springs is not practical due to the distance from Coos County, but if you are in the surrounding areas, there are trails leading towards the hot springs. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, as well as proper gear. The trails can be steep and rugged, so it's recommended for experienced hikers only.
