Car
From Prineville, OR, take US-26 W toward Madras/Bend. After about 20 miles, merge onto US-97 S toward Bend. Continue on US-97 S for approximately 23 miles. Take exit 135 for NE 3rd St. Turn left onto NE 3rd St, then turn right onto NE Butler Market Rd. Follow Butler Market Rd until it becomes a dirt road leading to Boyd Cave. The cave entrance will be on your left. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation + Walking
Start by taking the Cascades East Transit bus from Prineville to Bend. Once you arrive in Bend, transfer to the local bus service that heads toward East Bend. Get off at the nearest stop to Butler Market Rd. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles along Butler Market Rd until you reach the Boyd Cave entrance, which will be on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedule beforehand as service may be limited.
Bike
If you're in Bend, rent a bike from a local rental shop. From downtown Bend, head east on NE Franklin Ave, then take NE 3rd St north until you reach NE Butler Market Rd. Turn left onto Butler Market Rd and follow it for approximately 4 miles. Watch for the cave entrance on your left. This route is mostly flat and offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
