If you are driving from Bend, take US-97 N from the city. Follow US-97 N for about 18 miles. Take the exit toward Smith Rock State Park, and turn left onto NE Wilcox Ave. Continue straight until you reach the park entrance. Be prepared to pay a parking fee of $5 per vehicle, which can be paid at the self-service kiosk.
Car
If you are coming from Sisters, head southeast on OR-126 E. Merge onto US-97 S and continue for approximately 20 miles. Take the exit toward Smith Rock State Park, and turn left onto NE Wilcox Ave. Follow this road until you reach the park entrance, where a parking fee of $5 per vehicle applies.
Public Transportation
To reach Smith Rock State Park using public transportation, take the Cascades East Transit from Bend. Board the route that goes towards Terrebonne. You will need to get off at the nearest stop to Smith Rock State Park and then walk approximately 1 mile to the park entrance. Be sure to check the schedule in advance as transit options may be limited.
Bicycle
For an adventurous option, consider biking to Smith Rock State Park. From Bend, you can take the Smith Rock Scenic Bikeway, which is a designated route that offers beautiful views and a safe path. The ride is approximately 22 miles one way and can take around 2-3 hours depending on your cycling speed. Make sure to check your bike for proper functioning before starting your journey.
