Car
To reach Dug Bar from the nearest major city, La Grande, OR, start by getting onto I-84 W. Continue on I-84 W for about 60 miles until you reach exit 265 for OR-82 toward Elgin. Take OR-82 N for about 23 miles until you reach the town of Imnaha. When you arrive in Imnaha, continue on Imnaha River Road, which turns into FS Road 500. Follow this road for about 11 miles. Be aware that the roads can be rough and may require a high-clearance vehicle. Keep an eye out for signage directing you to Dug Bar. The final stretch involves driving along a narrow road, but the views of the river and canyon are spectacular.

From La Grande, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Imnaha, as there is no public transit directly to Dug Bar.
