If you're traveling by car from any location in Grant County, Oregon, you will want to head towards Condon, Oregon. From John Day, take OR-26 W for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with US-395 N. Merge onto US-395 N and continue for about 55 miles. Take the exit for Condon (OR-19) and turn left onto OR-19 N. Continue on OR-19 for about 9 miles until you reach Condon. Once in Condon, turn left onto N Washington St, and the Gilliam County Historical Museum will be on your right at 505 N Washington St. Parking is available near the museum.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in rural Oregon. However, you can take a Greyhound or a similar bus service to the nearest major town. From John Day, you would need to check the schedule for the next available bus to Condon. Once in Condon, you can either walk to the museum, which is only about 0.5 miles away from the bus station, or take a local taxi service to get there conveniently.
