Getting There

• Car

  From Hood River, head east on US-30 E until you reach the junction with I-84 E. Merge onto I-84 E and continue for approximately 21 miles. Take exit 64 for OR-197 S toward Tygh Valley/Maupin. Turn left onto OR-197 S and follow it for about 14 miles. When you reach Maupin, turn right onto White River Road. Continue on White River Road for about 6 miles until you reach White River Falls State Park. There is a parking fee of $5 per vehicle for day use.

• Public Transportation

  Using public transportation, you can take the Columbia Area Transit bus from Hood River to The Dalles. From The Dalles, you will need to transfer to a bus heading towards Maupin. Once you arrive in Maupin, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service as there are no direct public transport options to White River Falls State Park from the town. Alternatively, check with local shuttle services that may operate in the area.

• Biking

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike from Hood River to White River Falls State Park. Start by taking the scenic Route 30 E, transitioning to I-84 E, and then onto OR-197 S. Be prepared for a challenging ride, as the roads can be steep in some areas. It's approximately a 35-mile ride one way, so ensure you have enough supplies and plan for a return trip.
