Getting There

• Bicycle

  From downtown Hood River, head east on Oak Street towards 2nd Street. Turn left on 2nd Street and continue north until you reach the intersection with State Route 35. Turn right onto State Route 35 and continue for about 3.5 miles. Keep an eye out for the Panorama Point sign on the right. There is a designated bike lane, and the ride offers beautiful views of the Gorge.

• Walking

  Start at the Hood River Waterfront Park. Walk east along the waterfront path until you reach the intersection with State Route 35. Cross the road and continue walking north along State Route 35. It is about a 3.5-mile walk, so be prepared for a longer trek. Enjoy the scenic views of the Columbia River and surrounding mountains as you make your way to Panorama Point.

• Public Transit

  Take the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus from downtown Hood River. You will want to catch the bus heading towards Parkdale. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Panorama Point stop, which is approximately 3.5 miles from Hood River. The bus schedule may vary, so check the current timetable for exact times.

• Hiking

  If you are feeling adventurous, start at the Sunrise Trailhead located off of State Route 35. Hike up the Sunrise Trail, which leads to Panorama Point. The trail is well-marked and offers a moderate hike with stunning views along the way. It’s about a 2.5-mile hike one way, so plan accordingly and bring plenty of water.
