    Getting There

    Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Bend, Oregon. Head northeast on US-97 N for about 18 miles. Take the exit for OR-20 E toward Sisters. Continue on OR-20 E for about 16 miles until you reach the intersection with McKenzie Pass Scenic Byway (also known as OR-242). Turn left onto OR-242 and drive for about 5 miles. Look for the signs directing you to the Tam McArthur Rim Trailhead. Note that the last few miles may be on a gravel road, so be prepared for a bumpy ride. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead.

    Public Transportation + Car

    If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Bend to Sisters, which is operated by Cascades East Transit. Once you arrive in Sisters, you will need to rent a car or arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Tam McArthur Rim Trailhead as there are no direct public transportation options to the trailhead. The distance from Sisters to the trailhead is about 14 miles, and you will follow OR-20 E and OR-242 as described above.
