Car
If you're driving, start from downtown Klamath Falls. Head south on Main St towards S 6th St. Continue straight to merge onto US-97 S. Stay on US-97 S for approximately 10 miles. You will pass by several scenic views along the way. Look for the signs for Hagelstein County Park, which will be on your right at 17301 US-97. There is no entry fee for the park.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you can take the Basin Transit Service. Start at the Klamath Falls Transit Center and take Route 1 towards Klamath Falls. You will need to transfer to Route 5 at the Klamath Falls Walmart stop. The Route 5 will take you towards the US-97 area. The nearest stop to Hagelstein County Park is still a bit of a walk, approximately 1.5 miles. From the bus stop, walk south on US-97 until you reach the park entrance at 17301 US-97. Please check the Basin Transit Service website for the latest schedules and fares.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can start from downtown Klamath Falls. Take the South 6th St heading south and connect to US-97 S. It is about a 10-mile ride to Hagelstein County Park. The route is mostly flat but be cautious of traffic on US-97. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations. There are no bike rental services directly at the park, so plan accordingly.
Walking
Walking to Hagelstein County Park is recommended only if you are already in close proximity, as it is about 10 miles from downtown Klamath Falls. If you find yourself nearby, simply head south along US-97. The walk will take you through some lovely landscapes, but be prepared for potential traffic along the highway. It is advisable to check the weather and wear appropriate walking shoes.
