Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Eugene, OR, take I-105 E toward Springfield. Merge onto OR-126 E and follow it for about 40 miles until you reach McKenzie Bridge. Once in McKenzie Bridge, turn left onto National Forest Road 2672 (also known as the McKenzie River Highway). Drive approximately 3 miles on this road until you see the Tamolitch Falls (Blue Pool) trailhead parking area on your left. There is no fee for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    From Eugene, take the Lane Transit District bus route 91 to McKenzie River. Please check the current schedule for the bus times as they may vary. Once you arrive at McKenzie River, you will need to either walk or arrange for a taxi/rideshare to reach the Tamolitch Falls trailhead, which is approximately 3 miles away. Be prepared for a scenic walk along the McKenzie River Highway to reach your destination.

  • Hiking

    From the Tamolitch Falls trailhead parking area, you will need to hike the trail to reach the falls. The hike is about 2 miles one way and is moderately difficult. Follow the well-marked trail that leads you through the forest and alongside the river. The trail includes some elevation changes, so wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Upon reaching the Blue Pool, take time to enjoy the stunning views and the unique blue water. Note that swimming is not allowed in the pool.
