Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Eugene, Oregon. Take OR-126 E for about 40 miles. You will pass through the town of Springfield and the charming McKenzie River Valley. Continue on OR-126 E until you reach the junction with McKenzie River Drive. Turn left onto McKenzie River Drive and follow it for approximately 7 miles. You will see signs for Sahalie Falls Viewpoint along the way. The parking area is located right off McKenzie River Drive, with easy access to the viewpoint.
Public Transportation + Walking
For those using public transportation, you can take the Lane Transit District (LTD) bus from Eugene to McKenzie Bridge. Check the latest bus schedule on the LTD website for routes and times. Once you arrive in McKenzie Bridge, you will need to catch a taxi or rideshare service to reach Sahalie Falls Viewpoint, as public transport does not go directly there. The viewpoint is approximately 5 miles from McKenzie Bridge, and you can walk from the nearest drop-off point along McKenzie River Drive, but be aware that it may take around 1.5 hours on foot. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
