Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Zigzag Ranger Station located at 70220 US-26, Zigzag, OR 97049. From the center of Mount Hood National Forest, take US-26 E. Follow the US-26 for approximately 15 miles. The Zigzag Ranger Station will be on your right. Look for the signage as you approach, and be cautious of the speed limit as you enter the Zigzag area.

  Using public transportation, you can take the Mount Hood Express bus service. Check the schedule for the latest routes and times. You will need to catch the bus that heads towards Zigzag. Once you arrive in Zigzag, the Zigzag Ranger Station is a short walk from the bus stop. Be sure to confirm the exact stop and the walking path to the station, which is located at 70220 US-26.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, ensure you have a proper map for the trails. From any trailhead in Mount Hood National Forest, navigate towards US-26. The station is accessible via road, but be prepared for some traffic. Always wear a helmet and follow the road safety rules. Zigzag Ranger Station is about 2 miles from the nearest trailhead, and biking along US-26 is recommended as it is the most direct route.

  For those already in Zigzag, walking to the Zigzag Ranger Station is quite straightforward. From the center of Zigzag, head north on the main road (US-26) for about 0.5 miles. The station will be on your left side. Ensure you are walking on the designated sidewalks where available, and be cautious of the road traffic.
