Car
If you are driving from Salem, take I-5 N and merge onto I-205 N towards Portland. After about 25 miles, take the exit for I-84 E towards The Dalles. Continue on I-84 for approximately 50 miles, then take exit 87 for Mosier. Turn right onto Historic Columbia River Hwy and follow the signs to Rowena Crest Viewpoint, which will be about 3 miles ahead. The viewpoint is located at 6500 Historic Columbia River Hwy, Mosier, OR 97040. Note that there is no fee to enter.
Public Transportation
To reach Rowena Crest Viewpoint via public transit, first take a bus from your location in Polk County to Portland. From Portland, take the Columbia Gorge Express bus towards The Dalles. This bus will take you along the scenic Columbia River Highway. Once you reach the Mosier stop, you will need to walk or arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to take you approximately 3 miles to Rowena Crest Viewpoint. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary, and make sure to have cash or a card ready for the fare.
