Getting There

Walking
From the Smith Rock State Park Visitor Center, head west along the main park road until you reach the Crooked River. Look for the signage for the Steelhead Falls Trailhead. The trailhead is located on the north side of the park. Follow the marked trail which will guide you along the riverbank. The hike to Steelhead Falls is approximately 1.5 miles one way. The trail is moderately easy but can be dusty and rocky, so wear appropriate footwear.

If you have brought a bike or rented one, you can follow the same route as the walking path. Biking along the paved path from the Visitor Center to the Steelhead Falls Trailhead is a great option. The trail is bike-friendly, but be cautious of pedestrians and the rocky areas along the way. The ride is about 3 miles round trip.

If you are driving, you can park at the Smith Rock State Park parking lot. From there, follow the signs to the Steelhead Falls Trailhead. Note that Smith Rock State Park requires a day-use fee of $5 for parking, which can be paid at the self-service kiosks located at the parking area.
