Walking
From downtown The Dalles, start at the intersection of 2nd Street and Washington Street. Head east on Washington Street until you reach the intersection with 6th Street. Turn left onto 6th Street and walk north until you reach the Columbia River. At the river, you will find the scenic Riverfront Trail. Follow the Riverfront Trail east for about 3 miles, enjoying the views of the Columbia River. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Memaloose State Park. The park entrance will be on your right after crossing the Hood River Bridge.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown The Dalles. Start at 2nd Street and Washington Street, and bike east on Washington Street. After turning left onto 6th Street, continue north until you reach the Columbia River. Join the Riverfront Trail and head east. The ride will take about 30 minutes, depending on your pace. Look for park signs as you approach Memaloose State Park, which will be on your right after the Hood River Bridge.
