    From Enterprise, Oregon, head south on OR-82 for approximately 16 miles. At the junction with US-95, turn left onto US-95 South. Continue on US-95 for about 20 miles until you reach the town of Riggins, Idaho. From Riggins, follow the signs to Hells Canyon Wilderness, which is approximately 10 miles west of Riggins. You will need to take Forest Road 50 (also known as the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway) to access the wilderness area. Please note that some sections of the road may require a high-clearance vehicle, especially after heavy rain.

    Public Transportation

    There is limited public transportation in Wallowa County. You can take a Greyhound bus or a regional transit service to reach Riggins, Idaho. Once in Riggins, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to get to Hells Canyon Wilderness. Be sure to check the schedules in advance, as public transport may not run frequently.
