If you're traveling by car, start from any location in Wasco County and make your way to Interstate 84 (I-84) heading west. Take exit 17 for Corbett. After exiting, turn left onto E Historic Columbia River Hwy and continue for approximately 4 miles. You will see signs for Wahkeena Falls on your right. There is parking available at the trailhead; however, be aware that there may be a small parking fee. Parking can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so arrive early.
Public Transportation
To reach Wahkeena Falls using public transportation, take the Columbia Gorge Express bus service, which operates from Portland to the Gorge. You would want to catch the bus from the Gateway Transit Center in Portland. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary. Get off at the stop nearest to Wahkeena Falls. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the trailhead. Note that you will need to purchase a bus ticket, which may cost around $10-$15 each way.
Biking
For the more adventurous, biking to Wahkeena Falls is a fantastic option. You can bike along the Historic Columbia River Highway. Begin at a location that connects to the highway and follow the route towards Corbett. The ride is scenic but be prepared for some elevation changes. There are bike racks available at the Wahkeena Falls trailhead. Make sure to bring water and snacks, as there are no services available near the falls.
