Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, make your way to the Hunza Valley. From the main road (Karakoram Highway), follow the signs towards Karimabad. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach Karimabad. From here, Altit Fort is just about 3 kilometers away. Drive towards Altit village, and you will see signposts directing you to the fort. Parking is available near the entrance, but be prepared for a short walk to the fort itself.

  • Public Transportation

    For those traveling by public transportation, take a bus or a shared van from Gilgit to Karimabad. The journey can take around 2 to 3 hours. Once in Karimabad, you can hire a local taxi or walk to Altit Fort. The fort is about 3 kilometers from Karimabad, and taxis are readily available for a small fare (around PKR 200-300). The walk is also pleasant and offers stunning views of the valley.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk from Karimabad to Altit Fort, it is a scenic route. Start from the main bazaar of Karimabad, head towards the Altit village via the main road.
