Car
From Lahore, take the N-5 National Highway towards Jhelum. The journey is approximately 120 km and will take around 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Jhelum, follow the signs for Dina, which is about 15 km away. As you approach Dina, look for signs for Rohtas Fort. The fort is located just a few kilometers from the main road. There is no parking fee, but you may need to pay a small entry fee to access the fort.
Public Transportation
From Lahore, you can take a Daewoo Express or Faisal Movers bus to Jhelum, which takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Jhelum, hire a local taxi or rickshaw to take you to Rohtas Fort, which is approximately 15 km away. The taxi fare should be around PKR 300-500. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand. Entry to the fort will incur a small fee.
Train
Trains from Lahore to Jhelum are available through Pakistan Railways. The journey takes around 3-4 hours. Once you arrive at the Jhelum Railway Station, you can take a taxi or rickshaw to Rohtas Fort, which is about 15 km away. The fare for a taxi or rickshaw will be around PKR 300-500. Don’t forget to pay the entry fee to the fort.
