Walking
From the center of Chitral, head towards the main bazaar. Look for the road leading to the Kalash Valley. You will need to walk approximately 4 kilometers on this road. Keep an eye out for local signs pointing towards Rumbur. The scenery along this route is beautiful, with views of the surrounding mountains.
Public Transport (Khanjars)
Once you reach the main bazaar in Chitral, look for a Khanjar (local shared taxi) heading towards the Kalash Valley. These usually leave from the bazaar area. Inform the driver that you want to go to Rumbur. The ride will take you through the picturesque valleys, and you can expect it to take around 30-40 minutes, depending on road conditions.
Walking from Khanjar Drop-off
After being dropped off by the Khanjar at the last stop before Rumbur, you will need to walk approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Follow the path leading towards Rumbur, which is well-marked by locals. You will start seeing signs of the Kalash culture, as the village is primarily inhabited by the Kalash people.
