Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, which is Gilgit. From Gilgit, drive towards Raikot Bridge on the Main Karakoram Highway (N-35). The drive will take approximately 2 to 3 hours, covering about 100 kilometers. Once you reach Raikot Bridge, you will need to park your car here as no vehicles are allowed beyond this point. Make sure to pay any parking fees that may apply.

• Jeep

  From Raikot Bridge, you will need to hire a jeep for the journey to Fairy Meadows. This is a necessary step as the road is rugged and only accessible by 4x4 vehicles. You can find local jeep drivers at Raikot Bridge, and the cost for the jeep ride to Fairy Meadows usually ranges between 3000 to 5000 PKR, depending on negotiation and group size. The jeep ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

• Hike

  Upon reaching the end of the jeep ride, you will arrive at the last jeep stop from where Fairy Meadows is about a 2 to 3-hour hike. The trail is well-marked, but ensure you have sturdy footwear as the terrain can be challenging. It's advisable to hire a local guide if you're unfamiliar with hiking in such areas, which may cost around 1000 PKR for their services.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transport, take a bus from Gilgit to Raikot Bridge. Buses are available, and the fare is typically around 500 PKR. Once at Raikot Bridge, follow the same steps as above for hiring a jeep and completing the trek to Fairy Meadows.
